Paragliding in the Dolomites

Early autumn is probably the best time for paragliding in the Dolomites, as the air is less turbulent (or at least should be) than during the previous months of the flying season. Our group spent two days here. On the first day we encountered the roughest conditions I have experienced since I started paragliding three years ago. We all decided to land after a two and a half hour flight because the conditions were so difficult. Despite the very strong and turbulent updrafts it was a great experience to see such breathtaking scenery from high altitude and it made our September.

The Padon Chain is a lower but very nice, lenghty ridge which runs northward from the Marmolada group. Fedaia Lake (Lago di Fedaia) is visible among these ranges.
